In the modern Singaporean society that we reside in, pornography is often attributed or linked to sensitive and subjective themes like sexual equality and moral values. In which, it is evident that the general public apparently share the consensus that pornography is morally incorrect as it caters mainly to the raging desires of males and plays down the social status of women in our society. At the present, I am confident that I can assume that the porn-viewing-population in the world is dominated by males, as such, pornography are often designed to appeal to men. As such, certain themes are included to attract hormonally imbalanced men that damage the dignity of women in general. Therefore, pornography is often deemed to be morally objectionable and thus, leading to the development of the general opinion that we should not indulge in pornography. However, there are always two sides to a coin, and in my opinion pornography does have its advantages to offer.
Research and investigations have revealed that amidst the thousands of rapists who failed to restrain themselves from acting out sexually, almost every single one of them is loyal patrons of pornography websites. However, one major assumption that is made in these researches is that pornography increases the likelihood of individuals to commit rape.
